Reading Tweetup Goes From Strength to Strength
The Reading Twitterati ventured offline on Wednesday night for the biggest Reading Tweetup (#rdgtweetup) yet.
Tweeters have been regularly meeting up on alternate Wednesdays in Pitcher & Piano on Reading’s Friar Street. It is believed that the meetings were started by Daniel (@dtsn) with a group of just four guys back in April.
The last tweetup on 24th June had been a record breaker, with 16 attendees. With the launch of this website though, we had 23 people sign up in advance for this week’s event and at least that many came along. It meant that not everyone got to speak to everyone else, but it did mean that a lot more people became “real” in the eyes of their followers.
For those of us that have been attending regularly it is nice to catch up with our friends while having the opportunity to make a couple of new ones. Twitter then makes sure that we stay in touch in the mean time and always have something to talk about at the next meeting.

There are still lots of tweeters in the Reading and the wider Berkshire area that we are yet to meet. I hope even more people will get up, leave their keyboards, pick up their cameras and smart phones and venture out with the rest of us for the next Reading Tweetup on Wednesday 22nd July 2009.
Thanks to @amykate and @davidjohnpowell for the pictures. More can be found in the #RdgTweetup Flickr group.

Shouldn’t the next one be July and not June?
You are quite right – I have changed it. Thank you!
