New Venue For 2010?

We have had a great run of Tweetups at Glo in 2009 :-)

But there has been talk of a new venue for some time – well, let’s get on with it!

If you can think of a great place to hold the next #rdgtweetup on Wednesday 20th January then make a suggestion in the comments. I’ll then cook up a little poll and we can vote for the most popular choice.

To give us time for voting, deciding and publicising the change of location, please make your suggestion of a new venue by 11pm on Friday 15th Jan.

Thanks :-)

Katharine

I always go to Pavs. Kinda low end and grimey though, but cheap as hell and there are sofas. Hobgoblin is nice but too pokey to have more than about 4 people in a group. Spoons are boring but cheap. Sahara is probably even more pretentious and expensive. What sort of things are people looking for? What about the Great Ex or Global Café?

I saw someone mentioning on Twitter that some places have approached you guys with offers? Which ones?

Also, I like Glo, nice atmosphere, nice room and it’s easy to mingle.

I agree with Cat that about Glo, but it would be good to have free Wifi available. Copa (that GeekMeet use) has that although it may be too busy on Wednesday’s.

I don’t really know the other places that have been mentioned, for me being a short walk to the station is handy.

I think it is better to have separate room rather than a reserved space in a noisy bar or restaurant, although a good atmosphere is important.

Of course, the most important thing are the people, wherever we end up :)

Afro Bar is always a good place to go. Good music and laid back atmoshpere…

    Hi Wesley,

We tried that on one of the very first tweetups, turns out that they don’t get a delivery until thursday and are bonedry on a Wednesday.
